Terms of Service

Last updated: 8 April 2026

Please read carefully. These Terms form a binding legal agreement between you and SafeSkin. They include important provisions limiting our liability, providing indemnities, setting out governing law and jurisdiction, and — importantly — they incorporate the Disclaimer and Privacy Policy by reference. By using the Platform you agree to be bound by all of them.

1. Definitions

  • “SafeSkin”, “we”, “us”, “our” — the operator of the website safeskin.ie.
  • “Platform” — the SafeSkin.ie website, related subdomains, APIs, email communications, and any content, tools, or services made available through them.
  • “Consumer”, “you”, “User” — any person who accesses or uses the Platform.
  • “Clinic” — any aesthetic practitioner, clinic, practice, or business listed on the Platform.
  • “Clinic Owner” — a person who has registered an account to manage a Clinic listing.
  • “Content” — all information, text, images, data, pricing, treatment descriptions, reviews, and other material on the Platform.
  • “User Content” — any Content submitted by Users or Clinic Owners, including reviews, clinic descriptions, and images.

2. Acceptance, Eligibility, and Changes

By accessing or using the Platform you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, located in the Republic of Ireland (or otherwise legally able to accept these Terms in your jurisdiction), and that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms, the Disclaimer, the Privacy Policy, and the Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL with the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be notified to registered account holders by email and/or on-site notice. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

3. Description of Service

The Platform is an online directory and educational information resource. It enables:

  • Consumers to search and browse a directory of register-verified aesthetic practitioners, read educational content about treatments and skin concerns, and submit reviews.
  • Clinic Owners to list and manage a Clinic profile, subject to an applicable subscription tier.

The Platform also offers informational tools, including a treatment cost calculator, a preference-based treatment quiz, and treatment comparison tools. Outputs from these tools are informational only, not medical advice or a recommendation (see the Disclaimer).

SafeSkin is not a healthcare provider, clinic, medical service, booking agent, insurer, or regulator. SafeSkin does not provide medical advice, prescribe or administer treatments, or form a doctor-patient relationship with any User. SafeSkin does not employ any listed practitioner.

4. Commercial Disclosure & No Recommendation

SafeSkin is funded by Clinic subscription fees. Search result ordering is partly influenced by paid subscription tier. “Featured” and “Professional” designations reflect a commercial subscription — not a clinical rating, assessment, or recommendation by SafeSkin. Nothing on the Platform — including search rankings, tier labels, quiz outputs, comparison tables, or “related” sections — constitutes an endorsement or recommendation of any specific practitioner, clinic, treatment, or product. See the full Disclaimer.

Related interests. One or more directors, owners, or employees of SafeSkin may themselves be practitioners registered with an Irish statutory healthcare body, and may be a principal of, associated with, or listed as a practitioner at one or more Clinics on the Platform. Any such Clinic is listed on the same terms as every other Clinic, pays the same subscription fees for the applicable tier, and is subject to the same verification, editorial, moderation, review, and policy standards. SafeSkin does not give preferential ranking, editorial treatment, visibility, or free upgrades to any Clinic associated with a SafeSkin director, owner, or employee. This disclosure is made in the interests of transparency; it does not reflect any assessment by SafeSkin of the clinical quality of any Clinic.

5. User Accounts

Some features require a user account (“Account”). You must provide accurate and current information, keep credentials confidential, and promptly notify us of any unauthorised access. You are fully responsible for all activity under your Account. One person may not hold multiple Accounts to circumvent these Terms. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate any Account at our discretion.

6. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law or regulation (including medical advertising, consumer protection, and data protection law).
  • Submit false, misleading, defamatory, harassing, abusive, obscene, or infringing Content (including fake, incentivised, or unauthorised reviews).
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or the authenticity of any review or submission.
  • Submit personal health information, medical records, or images belonging to any third party without that person’s documented consent.
  • Upload viruses, malware, or any code intended to disrupt or compromise the Platform.
  • Attempt to probe, scan, test, reverse engineer, or circumvent any security or access control of the Platform.
  • Scrape, harvest, crawl, or otherwise extract Content from the Platform by automated means, except where permitted by a robots.txt or a written agreement with SafeSkin.
  • Use the Platform, its listings, or reviews to compile a competing directory or to train any machine learning model, without our prior written consent.
  • Send unsolicited commercial communications (spam) to Clinics or Users identified through the Platform.
  • Submit or upload content you do not have the right to share.

We reserve the right to remove any Content and to suspend, terminate, or ban any User who breaches this clause, without refund and without prejudice to any other remedy available to us.

7. Clinic Listings and Verification

Listings may be pre-populated by SafeSkin from publicly available information or created and claimed by Clinic Owners. SafeSkin verifies that each listed practitioner’s named principal appears, at the time of listing, on the relevant Irish statutory register (Medical Council of Ireland, Dental Council of Ireland, or NMBI). Verification is limited to that register entry. SafeSkin does not verify or warrant aesthetic training, specific qualifications, insurance, product authenticity, clinical outcomes, facilities, or continuing registration currency. See sections 4 and 5 of the Disclaimer.

SafeSkin may edit, suspend, or remove any listing at its sole discretion, including for inaccuracy, policy breach, regulatory concern, or non-payment of fees.

8. Clinic Owner Warranties and Obligations

If you claim or create a Clinic listing, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are authorised to act on behalf of the Clinic.
  • The named practitioner(s) hold current, valid registration with the relevant Irish statutory body.
  • The Clinic holds current professional indemnity insurance and complies with all applicable Irish healthcare, medicines, medical device, advertising, and consumer protection laws.
  • All information, images, descriptions, treatment offerings, product names, and pricing you submit are accurate, current, lawful, and do not infringe any third-party right.
  • Any product you administer is sourced from an authorised supplier and holds any required CE mark or regulatory approval.
  • You will respond to Consumer enquiries in a professional and timely manner and will honour advertised prices at the time of the enquiry.
  • You will not use the Platform to advertise prescription-only medicines to the general public in breach of Irish or EU law.
  • You will update your listing promptly if any material information changes (including registration lapse).

Breach of any warranty in this section entitles SafeSkin to suspend or terminate your Account and listing immediately, without refund, and to pursue any remedy available at law.

9. Subscriptions, Payment, and Refunds

SafeSkin offers tiered subscription plans (Free, Professional, Featured, Enterprise). Features of each tier are described on the pricing page and may change. Free tier features are provided at our discretion and may be modified or withdrawn at any time without notice.

Billing. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout, in Euros. Prices are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise; you are responsible for any VAT or other tax that applies to you. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card details. Failed payments may result in suspension of paid features until resolved.

Auto-renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time via your dashboard or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — access to paid features continues until that date.

Refunds. Except where required by Irish consumer law, all fees are non-refundable. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods, unused features, account suspension for breach of these Terms, or downtime caused by third-party providers or force majeure.

Price changes. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice to existing paying subscribers. Continued subscription after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

Chargebacks. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us to resolve the issue constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in immediate termination and recovery of costs.

10. User Content and Patient Reviews

When you submit User Content (including reviews, ratings, clinic descriptions, images, or messages) you represent that: (a) the Content is your own or you have all rights required to submit it; (b) the Content is truthful, reflects your own genuine experience, and is not defamatory or misleading; (c) you have not been paid or incentivised to post; and (d) the Content does not contain personal health information about any other person.

Licence to SafeSkin. You grant SafeSkin a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, sub-licensable licence to host, store, display, reproduce, modify (for formatting), translate, adapt, and distribute your User Content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Platform. You waive any moral rights to the extent permitted by law.

Reviews — specific rules. One review per email address per Clinic. Reviews must describe a real visit. Clinics and their affiliates may not post reviews about their own Clinic or about competitors. Clinics may reply to reviews via their dashboard (paid tiers). SafeSkin may moderate, edit for length or formatting, verify, flag, hide, or delete any review at its discretion. Reviews are the personal opinion of the reviewer; SafeSkin does not warrant their accuracy. See sections 7 and 12 of the Disclaimer.

11. Intellectual Property

All Content on the Platform, excluding User Content, including the SafeSkin name, logo, trade marks, designs, text, graphics, software, and compilation of the directory, is owned by SafeSkin or its licensors and is protected by Irish and international intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for your personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, scrape, sell, license, or create derivative works from any Content without our prior written consent.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

The Platform links to, integrates with, or makes available third-party services and websites (including Stripe, Supabase, Vercel, regulator websites, clinic websites, map tile providers, and booking tools). SafeSkin has no control over, and accepts no responsibility for, the availability, content, security, policies, accuracy, or practices of any third party. Your use of any third-party service is governed by that third party’s terms and is at your own risk.

13. No Medical Advice & No Doctor-Patient Relationship

Nothing on the Platform is medical advice. No doctor-patient, nurse-patient, dentist-patient, or other professional healthcare relationship is created by using the Platform. The full position is set out in the Disclaimer, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

14. Warranty Disclaimer (“As Is”)

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Platform and all Content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. SafeSkin specifically disclaims all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, currency, uninterrupted availability, security, and freedom from errors or viruses. SafeSkin does not warrant any clinical outcome, patient acquisition, booking volume, revenue, or result of any kind from use of the Platform.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • SafeSkin, its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, business opportunity, or anticipated savings, arising out of or related to these Terms or the Platform, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise, and whether or not foreseeable.
  • SafeSkin shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or harm arising from the act, omission, advice, product, service, conduct, insolvency, or insurance status of any Clinic, practitioner, third party, or other User.
  • Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the Platform and these Terms, for any and all claims in aggregate over any 12-month period, shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to SafeSkin in the 12 months preceding the first event giving rise to the claim, or (b) €100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by SafeSkin’s own proven negligence, fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Irish law.

16. Indemnity

You agree, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SafeSkin, its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, and agents from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, proceedings, losses, damages, fines, penalties, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees on a full indemnity basis) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of, or inability to use, the Platform;
  • Your breach of these Terms, the Disclaimer, the Privacy Policy, or any applicable law;
  • Any User Content you submit (including any review, image, or description) that is alleged to be defamatory, infringing, inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise unlawful;
  • Any dispute, injury, loss, or adverse outcome involving any Clinic, practitioner, product, treatment, or third party found through, advertised on, linked from, or otherwise connected to the Platform;
  • Your negligence, wilful misconduct, or infringement of any third-party right.

We reserve the right, at your expense, to assume exclusive defence and control of any matter for which you are required to indemnify us, in which case you agree to co-operate with our defence.

17. Suspension, Termination, and Effect

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform or any Account (including paid subscriptions) at any time, without prior notice, if: (a) you breach these Terms or any other Platform policy; (b) we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse, or illegal activity; (c) your payment fails and is not promptly resolved; (d) we are required to do so by law, regulation, or court order; or (e) we discontinue the relevant service.

On termination of a paid subscription, custom content fields on Clinic listings revert to base fields; no custom data is deleted for 24 months, after which we may delete it without further notice. Sections relating to liability, indemnity, intellectual property, governing law, and any other provision that by its nature should survive termination will continue in force.

18. Data Protection

Our processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Platform you acknowledge our processing of your personal data in accordance with that Policy.

19. Electronic Communications and Marketing

By providing your email address, you consent to receive transactional communications relating to your Account, subscription, and listings (including security and billing notices). Marketing communications are only sent where you have opted in and you may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.

20. Force Majeure

SafeSkin is not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, pandemic, government action, utility or internet outage, or failure of a third-party service provider.

21. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any non-contractual obligation arising from them are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. You agree that the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute. Nothing in this clause affects any non-waivable statutory consumer right you may have.

Before commencing any formal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] with a written description of the dispute and allow 30 days to attempt a good-faith resolution.

22. General

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SafeSkin relating to the Platform and supersede any prior agreement on the same subject matter.

Severability. If any provision is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary, or deleted, and the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

No waiver. A failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that or any other provision.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to any affiliate or successor on notice to you.

No third-party rights. A person who is not a party to these Terms has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) regime, or otherwise, to enforce any of its terms.

Notices. Notices to SafeSkin must be sent to [email protected]. Notices to you may be sent to the email address associated with your Account.
